Varian Arabians

Jullyen El Jamaal - Testimonials

I told Johanna (Ullström) I wanted to breed not only a pretty Arabian, but also one that could function properly. What was the point of having an extreme face, but no legs, no back, no shoulder or no hip? I wanted to breed a horse that could be remembered as a complete horse, and not only good to look at in a luxury stall. My love for logic and reason told me that breeding was passing on a healthy genetic pool that had to enable fitness and survival down the road, for the benefit of future generations. A horse had to stay horse. The answer to my question was, after browsing all options around the world, and without any doubt: Sheila Varian. Well, Sheila being a very dear friend, on top of producing some of the most admired Arabians in the world, bred for ultimate performance and usability, this was a choice I felt very comfortable in making. On advice of Johanna, another dear friend, Veronica (Mann-Wernsten), Sweden, bought a few years ago a refined Varian mare, Sasha Jullyen V (*Jullyen el Jamaal x Satine IA), and exported her to Europe. Since the day I saw her at Sheila's place, and later on at Johanna's farm in Belgium, she took a special place in my heart, as much as in my mind. She was gracious, both in temper as in appearance. Her neck was a trademark of the "V" breeding program and made her instantly recognizable within any group. She had the look of an athletic princess, a rare combination. When Veronica mentioned she would be ready to lease her to me for a year, I felt the choice was obvious. A year later, Shivaji JJ was born, by the famous European sire Ajman Moniscione, a name in itself. Both horses combined the best of qualities. I got lucky to be in the country when this little colt decided it was time to see the world. Pretty, balanced, complete and functional. I felt I made the right choice. Thank you Sheila, Veronica and Johanna for this wonderful opportunity!

*Jullyen El Jamaal Breeder

You are some of the most professional and kindest people I have ever met. I am so grateful for your understanding offer and just don’t know how to say thank you well enough. I am so impressed with the ethic at Varian and, of course, love the horses. People trying to breed or purchase a top quality horse bred with the good of the horse in mind couldn’t do better than to do so with Varian. I will be a strong supporter of Varian Arabians and will do my very best to send as many people as I can your way.\\

Sincerely and with many thanks,

Sheila,
Thank you so much for the presentation of your lovely *Jullyen horses. We were so impressed with the horses themselves, and also with how you have trained them to come from an early age. Your warm and wonderful hospitality was a highlight of our trip.

Jazz (x Queen of Ssheba) is incredibly flexible at the poll and very light front ended - picks himself up and rolls.......very similar to watching Saddlebred babies.......

We are thrilled! Our colt by Jullyen El Jamaal x Aladdins Tapestry is big, sweet and very smart. This breeding was meant to be and obviously proved to be a great match. This guy is even better than expected!

In May 2006 I was presented with Ali Savant HT, a colt one dreams about but never quite achieves. His beauty and overall quality were complimented by his presence, attitude, curiosity and willingness.

Thank you for your breeding program, commitment to the breed, semi-annual galas, and for your much needed advice.
