Varian Arabians is a very special place.  It is a place where many of the most beautiful and talented Arabian horses have been produced, trained, and celebrated.
I have been fortunate enough to have my life’s passion for Arabian horses become a successful business and journey. It has always been my goal to breed towards my ideal horse.  For over 50 years I have bred equally for Arabian type, performance qualities, disposition and trainability.  With these goals in mind Varian Arabians has enjoyed a rich history of success.

This successful business and exciting journey has been a lot of work, and I have been fortunate enough to have intelligent and dedicated people to work with.  People who share my breeding goals and training style become incredibly valuable to the success of Varian Arabians.  There are a number of employees who have been with me for more than ten years. Angela Alvarez, our Breeding Manager and Co-Farm Manager, has worked for me for over twenty years. It is all of us together that make Varian Arabians the very unique and beautiful farm that it is.

What does the "V" mean?

Many of you will have noticed by now that there are many horses with the “V” following their names: Desperado V, Maclintock V, Sundance Kid V, and so on. This simply signifies Varian-bred horses, and we are exceedingly proud of the contributions our horses have made in pedigrees around the globe. Some people have thought the “V” stands for a Roman numeral five, so we would like to set the record straight. Please go to the “VA History” page for more details.
